The Spiritual Work of the United Nations and the Liberation of Humanity
The Rainbow Bridge of Light and the Work of the United Nations
Enlightenment will increasingly make its presence obvious, and humanity will indeed rise out of its unhappy past into a new world of understanding, of tranquility, of cooperation and of renewed spiritual impulse.
The Tibetan Master, Djwhal Khul, in The Externalisation of the Hierarchy
Regardless of differences of nationality, ethnicity, culture or faith, it is high time to understand that we are all part of one human family, with shared core values?and what is more important is that we act accordingly.
Dr. Mohammed ElBaradei, Director-General, International Atomic Energy Agency
In accepting the International Four Freedoms award presented by the Roosevelt Stichting Foundation in the Netherlands, Dr. Mohammed ElBaradei, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), called for a new emphasis on universal freedoms as the means to solve the current threats of terrorism and extremism.
Defining the current global approach to security as dysfunctional, he emphasized the fact that the global community needs to work urgently towards the development of a new collective security system. Such a system, he said, must be based not on nuclear deterrence, nor on the build-up of armaments, but on human security, human solidarity and human interdependence. He asserted that the root causes of insecurity, ranging from poverty and repression to unresolved conflicts require a new mindset and reformed institutions.
Further, he pointed out, what to many is a most obvious truth: Intolerance, poverty, repression and fear, "can lead to despair and humiliation, which in turn breed extremism and terrorism, the very threats that ultimately, affect the freedoms of every one of us."
The Ageless Wisdom alerts us to the fact that the four freedoms are to the life of humanity what the integration of the personality is to the Soul, within each individual. That is, the individual must attain a certain point of balance and integration within the physical, etheric, emotional and mental bodies before there can be a new influx of spiritual energy into that life. Within humanity, once truly actualized, the Four Freedoms will establish right human relations among the people of the world and will relate the four aspects of the lower self, the quaternary, leading increasingly to humanity's ability to be impressed by the energies of higher consciousness.
A direct channel could then be created for the precipitation of "light supernal" into the three worlds of human living. As per the Eastern symbolism, the "bridge of sighs," which "leads all men into the vale of tears, of woe, of discipline and of loneliness" could then be transformed into a Radiant Rainbow Bridge, revealing the new kingdom of the Soul, beyond the current maya, glamour and illusion.
At this time of the year, on Sunday, June 11th, many around the world observe World Invocation Day, also known as the Festival of Humanity and the Festival of Goodwill, a most propitious time for humanity to engage in the construction of the Radiant Rainbow Bridge. Since 1952 World Invocation Day has been observed as a global day of spiritual healing. It is a Day of deep invocation and appeal, aspiring towards fellowship, and acknowledging the potential of human and spiritual unity.
Combining with the cosmic energies pouring into our planet through the sign of Gemini, humanity is offered the opportunity to recognize and identify with the love that underlies the entire universe. In the esoteric wisdom, it is said of this sign, "When the immortal brother floods the mortal brother with the light and life of God," then the heart centre, with its correlating activity of consciousness (group understanding and group love) will function freely. The two brothers of this sign represent the duality within each human being—the poles of soul and form, the mortal self or personality and the immortal self or Soul.
To avail ourselves of this yearly cosmic opportunity, a Roundtable will be held at the United Nations this coming Friday, June 9th. Addressing the question, "How Can the Use of Goodwill, Meditation and Other Spiritual Practices Support the Work of the United Nations?" with the dedicated help of all who receive this message, linked in subjective support, we will seek to strengthen and vitalize the United Nations, the common house of humanity. We strive so that we may see the day when what is yet only the theory of global unity can in fact become the reality. We strive so that we may someday see a vital United Nations engaged in right human relations, guaranteeing to every person on the planet the four essential freedoms, leading eventually to the abolition of war and to nation states that are governed by those who are truly concerned with the highest good of their people.
Will you join us in subjective support by using the meditation outline, "The Spiritual Work of the United Nations and the Liberation of Humanity?" As mentioned in past letters, this outline is available in different languages. Please inquire, if you are interested.
You may also wish to respond to the group sharing questions that will be addressed at the UN Roundtable: "How can goodwill, meditation and other spiritual practices support the work of the United Nations?" And, "What is mine and my group's responsibility to this work?" Your responses can be posted in the Group Sharing section of the UN Discussion Forum.
Many around the globe are engaged in observing World Invocation Day by participating in vigils of the sounding of the Great Invocation. If you are interested in participating in these vigils, in English, write to WIDVigil@earthlink.net; in Spanish or Portuguese, write to email@example.com
We also want to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank those of you who have participated and are participating in the UN Discussion Forum, adding your energies and your thoughts to this collective group work. Thank you also to those of you who are disseminating to your networks and mailing lists information about the United Nations and the UN Meditation Initiative of the Aquarian Age Community.
Eleanor Roosevelt used to say that the United Nations was a piece of machinery and it was up to the people of the world to ensure that it would work. We would add: the United Nations is a spiritual idea, reflective of a global consciousness and impulsed from on high. The more we can embrace this idea and identify with it, the more we will ensure the manifestation of a world of cooperative and "united" nations, responsibly serving the highest good of their people.
