How Can the Use of Goodwill, Meditation and Other Spiritual Practices Support the Work of the United Nations?
Welcome and Introduction
Good Afternoon, Friends. Thank you for being here. My name is Ida. I'm the President and Founder of the Aquarian Age Community—an NGO here at the UN.
And, it is my great pleasure and privilege to welcome you here today for this Roundtable—a Roundtable of sacred music, sacred keynote talks, sacred group discussion—and meditation, where we will have the opportunity to tune in to that which is most sacred within each of us and to then radiate that out to all life on our planet.
I emphasize "sacred"—with its root in an old English word that originally meant, to heal and to make whole. Humanity, as we know uses only a small part of its potential.
Psychologists tell us that human beings use but ten percent of their mind power and any student of the esoteric wisdom will affirm that what we normally call reality is but a dark shadow and is only maya, glamour and illusion. I know everyone here agrees with me: much more is possible to each of us.
We have a full program ahead of us and I'm delighted to next turn the floor over to Eileen who will use her mastery of sound to help us begin our inward and upward journey.
Kathy will then lead us in sounding the mantram of the New Group of World Servers—a concept with which I hope everyone in this room will increasingly identify.
We will then move into the key talks and I would like to ask you, if you could please hold your responses to the talks-your questions/comments-perhaps writing these down and then at the end of the talks, before going into the group discussion, you will have the opportunity to address them to the various speakers.
Thank you again for being here and for your anticipated contributions.
Along with those of our friends and co-workers around the world who could not be with us, but who are subjectively supporting our work here today, my hope is that together, we will add some measure of vitality, light and power to this organization we love—this organization of "united" nations, which upholds the vision of unity, reason and love on a global scale—for all life on planet earth.
The Mantra of the New Group of World Servers*
* This mantra is sounded daily at 5:00 p.m. local time by many throughout the world as a method of committing and daily re-pledging oneself to the energies of Light, Love and the Will-to-Good and to their expression in one's day-to-day life.
